Hyper-Tuning LXD75 mount was created by darragh
Hi,
Has anybody here done the Hyper-Tune procedure from LXD55.com?
I am thinking of doing it to get rid of some play in the RA axis and improve the performance of the mount.
Thanks
Darragh

I don't know about hypertuning, but I've tightened up the worm drives - it seems to be something that needs doing after a while with this mount. It's a pretty straightforward procedure once you've worked out how the three screws concerned work in tandem to achieve the proper adjustment of the worm drive. There's also an endfloat adjustment to be done. Both are very fine adjustments, the key being to get freedom of movement - ie no binding - and also no play!
Is there more to the "hypertuning" than this?

Hi Darragh
Havent done the 'hyper tuning' but have completed the tweeking that Paul mentions a few times. The trigger for me is when I feel play in the counter weight shaft.

I haven't got the kit off them or anything but I think I've done most of the things they do bar replacing the grease.
Getting the play out of the axis is something you can do yourself by stripping down the mount.
