Shame - looks impressive. But when beer calls... Did I not read a report of you doing something similar one and missing out on an evening's viewing?
I'm off to the US in a week and a half - LA, LV, Flagstaff and then 3 nights at Starhill Inn, New Mexico followed by Phoenix. I'll report back.
How long will your trip be John?
Cheers
Dave

hi Dave,
have a great trip over to the States . . . one of the other guys is off to Calif. next Monday for ten days and hopes to pick up a bit of gear there. Looking forward to hearing how you get on at Star Hill Inn . . . I remember an article years ago in Sky & Tel. called "Shootout at Star Hill Inn" where a group did the Messier Marathon using GoTo scopes and the old starhopping way to compare the merits of both methods.
am planning to go for 3 weeks next year . . . handy with sisters both in L.A. and San Francisco

An impressive looking telescope,
The add didnt mention a guide price so its probabily expensive,
The secondary is quite large, 39% by diameter, most SCTs are in the 30% range, Maks are lower again.
although the add is pushing it as fab for photography.
Dave,
Maybe you could bring a few back from the trip, atleast one for yourself anyway. It looks like its just what your looking for.
Enjoy the holiday.

Dave,
These sell for $39,995 .... I was also curious when I first saw the announcement a few months ago and pursued it further. Now try smuggling one of these babies through customs?!

Dave, I owe you $95.00
Please see www.buytelescopes.com/product.asp?t=&pid=7153&m= ... when you consider that an AP160 + AP1200GTO cost nearly $20,000 without a polar scope, counterweights etc etc, the C20 is not exactly expensive relatively speaking.
Anthony.
