CGE tracking question was created by johnomahony
Hi
A question for the CGE users out there.
Can the equatorial tracking on the CGE be switched on without having to go through a star alignment?
The reason I ask is that the equatorial tracking of the mount for visual use is just fine using a rough line of sight polar alignment (and its quick). If you just want to look at one object in the evening, say the moon, and don't want the bother of a 2-4 star alignment, can the equatorial tracking be activated using the keypad (and the mount simply moved and locked manually to the target)?

Yes, John. Easy.

Just press

Menu->Tracking->Eq-North.

The scope will track anything its pointed at. The 2 star calibration only comes into play if you need to use goto.
