well strictly speaking it's not a denver chair, but another design from a picture I saw. It's a lot lighter than the first attempt. I made it from 4" X 2" and a piece of plywood, 8mm threaded bar to make hinge thingy and some blue nylon rope. - something to make on a rainy saturday afternoon when you are bored and finished reading your Astronomy Ireland Magazine (including the small adds)

I noticed you merged threads..... :oops: sorry got excited. See previous post for details of construction. 3 hour construction time including two coats of varnish. Only thing I would say is, it needs a broom handle dowel midway between lower seat position and bottom runner for foot rest

I suppose with a cushion behind you, the denver chair could be comfortable enough.
Whats the max weight load on a chair like that?
I'm guessing they are pretty damn strong. Last thing you want is a plank of 2 be 4 going where the sun dont shine,LOL.

PJ, I will probably bring it to COSMOS next week if anyone wants a look, its not spectacular but suits me. Its realy suited to my type of observing - i.e using my Dobson
