You'd be surprised Seanie, O3 filters from the same manufacturer can be very different apparently. Age, climate conditions and handling can compromise them considerably, I'd like to compare my O3 with other peoples O3 (and UHC) to see how they compare, I don't have doubts about what I've got but it is nice to be certain you are getting the most from the equipment you have and not be there in 10 years time testing your friends filter to realise you been using a piece of frosted glass over all the years.

Ah yeah, I get that bit alright. Just how many variations of an oxygen filter can there be!

I'm not sure what an oxygen filter is but i'm thinking there are many different ones.

Ahhhhhhhhhh sorry Dave. I thought it was a bit strange that you were asking about a filter (if Dave with his 20" Obsession dont know........no one does).

Yes PJ, it is very strange. But for the opposite reason:
Dave, I thought you, with the 20", don't really need any filters to see the magic of the universe.
Filters are for us poor guys with the little scopes!

Vagelis.................dont take the piss out of my little 3.5" scope while i'm awake,LOL.

I'll have you know that the scope i have now is more powerful then the scope Galileo had a few yrs ago when he found everything.

But seriously i would have thought a 20" Obsession scope would pretty much unlock the mysteries of the universe without needing filters of any kind.

You might think that Vagelis and PJ, but the O3 filter is the difference between seeing hints of the veil nebula for example and seeing it like you might in a photograph, the effect can be very dramatic even with the 20".
I didn't believe the web descriptions of this effect and wrote them off as exaggeration's until I saw it for myself!.
Others here who were at WSP last year can testify to this.
