Can anyone recommend an extension cable that would connect to the CGE mount and add a foot or two extra length onto the hand controller? The controller as supplier is way to short to be used comfortably.

Hi John,
I'm Not to sure weather there is anything like that for the CGE but I'll make a few calls and see what comes up.Have you tried using the next remote that came with your scope it allows you to use your hand controller via your laptop through an RS232 cable, I find this great when image the planets as I can move the hand controller without touching the scope by using the arrow keys on the laptop.
Carl.
Ps,
What problems are you having with the Hand controller that you need an extension for it.

Hi Carl
There is no real problem with it. It just means having to stretch over a bit if the controller connector is on the other side of the mount. I must try the nexremote software sometime.I think I have an RS232/UBS adapter somewhere.
The connector looks like a standard phone connector, perhaps a standard extension lead would work.
cheers

Hi John,
A simple Cat5 cable with RJ11 crimped at both ends and a telephone cable connector should do the job.
I don't have RJ11 connectors or cable connector but if you get them in maplin I can do up a cable for you, no probs.
