Hi,
I was browsing astromart and came across this,
www.astromart.com/classifieds/details.asp?classified_id=610965
yea crazy, but hey, wouldn't it be nice.!

BTW, if you get something like this, I can give you a hand setting it up if you like. B)

I have no plans to buy any telescopes this year, new or otherwise. First order of business is saving and second is to make energy saving home improvements. With every private sector job at risk (and not being in the secure cocoon of the public sector) it's a time to limit discrectionary spending - besides, I already have telescopes.

I'd like to buy some new equipment, not sure if I can, even if I am "in the secure cocoon of the public sector".

One question that arises is will there be more astro equipment for sale on the second hand market due to these more difficult times?

yea a good question, the prices of the big scopes on astromart don't seem to be hit that badly...yet!
and I can certainly relate to the uncertainty in the private sector and have seen the results in the seemly complete meltdown in construction.

All the same, its nice to fantasize. If things turn around, then why not a 28" ;) B)

8800 dollars and 'pick up only' you'd have to be certifiable!
(eg Dave)

I have a wee 'obsession 18'' UC' fund slowly
(and I do mean slowly!) growing.

But I have the sneaking suspicion that it will be 'raided' come
May when I (all going well) become a daddy.

Either that or Frankie Jr Jr will have to sleep in the mirror box.
Aw bless.
