focus driving me mad - any advice was created by Redmond_Algol_OLeary
Hi All
I finally got out last night , nearly four months since my last outing!
Anyhow I was using my new Skywatcher Equinox 120 PRO OTA (f/7.5) which is on a HEQ5 Pro Synscan mount. With it I am using a diagonal and a canon eos 450.
Even when using ordinary eyepieces the focus (Dual-Speed machined Crayford focuser)
can't handle the weight and I have to use screw to tighten when the scope isn't level(most of the time). This means I am manually focusing by pushing the focus tube in and out and losing any benefits of having a fine focuser. I have been led to believe this is normal on refractors but I was using to an electric motor focus unit on my last Nexstar11 GPS.
Your advice and comments gratefully received!
