Barlow Question was created by lunartic_old
Hi all
I have a 13mm Nagler that I really enjoy, but now I'm looking at a 7mm Nagler, if I can find one. I'm also thinking about a barlow lens and my questions are these: Will the barlow affect the 82 degree field of view? Will it introduce vignetting and kidney beaning in my f4.9 scope?
I'll be honest and say I'm not a fan of the barlow lens but it might come down to cost.
Thanks for the time.
Paul

Paul --
Optically a good Barlow will be fine -- if anything it will reduce vignetting and kidney beaning. (In fact, the first pair of lenses in any Nagler is a Smythe group, which functions as a Barlow.)
They are fiddly, however, and might require large amounts of focus travel when going from 13mm with Barlow to 13mm without.
Cheers,
-- Jeff.
