Why So Many Ethos Eyepieces For Sale? was created by lunartic_old
Hi all

Just browsing through the used equipment websites, it's a bad habit that I have, and I noticed that there appears to be many Ethos eypieces for sale and I was wondering why this is so?

What could make an owner shell out big money and then sell after such a short time?

Incidentally, I managed to get a look through an Ethos recently at the SDAS observing night, it was owned by Simon, and the field of view was ridiculous, ridiculous in the good senseB). Turning the head to look left and right is a strange sensation, I thought the Nagler was wide. WOW.:woohoo:

I suppose Paul with the recession and people loosing jobs, some might have bought then and now find they need the money. Its a buyers market for second hand equipment.
You gonna buy one ?

I ask, nay I demand that Simon comes to the next observing session!! Not that I'll have the spare spondulicks for a year or two but I'd love to see what all the fuss is about. I'd also like to calibrate my paracorr with a Televue eyepiece while I'm at it.:)

They are not parafocal, it is real pain to refocus each time magnification had changed. Compared to Naglers they have smaller contrast and light transmission. They are to big and heavy for lot of dobsonians.
