Best place to buy scope?

Hi,
I am in the market to buy an 8" dob (with tracking) and like everyone else have done a lot of research on prices/shipping cost.
The are a few UK dealers that seem to have good prices & good customer service but the cheapest online by far is a german based company Astroshop.eu.
Anyone have any experience with them with regards to support/customer service?

Appreciate any steer on this before I part with my money, thanks.

I haven't come across Astroshop. Another German company worth checking is Telescope Service. Their shipping charges are about the lowest and the service and advice is excellent.

Funny, I was going to ask the same about astroshop. They have an eyepiece kit I'm thinking of buying.

I bought a 8" tracking skywatcher from telescope service last year and can't parise them enough.

The scope arrived securely packed and on time.

Try placing your order with telescope service and proceed to the point at which you see their shipping charge - it may be competitive with astroshop.eu when the shipping is added? I got an 8" reflector from them recently, together with other bits, and the total shipping charge for delivery of the large 13.8 kilogram package to Dublin was only €23! UPS delivered within five working days and the service and communication was excellent. The owner of Telescope Service, Wolfi Ransburg, is an avid astrophotographer and offers well-informed impartial advice.

I checked out Telescope Sevice/teleskop-express.de and their prices are good but still a good bit behind astroshop.
From UK dealers they look for 65GBP shipping alone!
For the model I am looking at in Euros:
UK dealers 640 -655 incl shipping, telescope service 579 + shipping, Astroshop 552 incl shipping.

I suppose prices are one thing and service when things go wrong - like receiving a wrong model or a major faulty item (like a broken mirror!) is a totally different matter!!
I do not mind paying over the odds for good service but like everyone else I do shop around.

Just a correction on those prices Astroshop defaults to German postage when set for IR the postage brings the price to 584 compared to Telescope Service- 630 (both incl postage) - not as big a gap as I first thought.
