I am going to have to research Solar filters properly. I know bits about them, but i find it hard to compare different models from different manufacturers. It is easy for a product range such as this, as you look down the list its gets better and better and when you reach 0.3 angstrom your at the best.

But how do you compare it to another manufactures Solar filter accurately. I can look at a SolarMax filter that would has higher aperture, lower angstrom rating but a higher price. I can look at the Lunt LS152 which is a lot more aperture but is rated for .65 angstrom versus 0.3 angstrom with this filter and a lot more expensive.

Then there is filters v solar refractor scope, internal v external echelons, powered versus non powered, stacking….

Is there any quick and easy ways you lads have I missing or is it a case of getting the head down and studying it all?
