After only a few weeks with the 12" Lightbridge I think I am a complete fan of dobsonian telescopes. The scope is so easy to set up. In fact I leave it fully assembled inside the house and move the OTA outside in one move-it's quite manageable. In five minutes I am ready to observe. The views are great and the planetary views are stunning. In fact much better than my C11 and there is only a short cool down time required. Finding objects is much easier when you dont have to fiddle with equatorial mount alignment. The plieades fill the field of view of my 27mm Panoptic beautifully. The moon is simply breathtaking. I pushed the magnification up to 400x with a 2.5 power mate and 9mm nagler and the image was still reasonably sharp and almost three dimensional. I am a happy camper with my new scope.
Should have done this years ago , only bigger.

Dobs rule,
I was also surprised at how good planetary images can be through a dob, they had supposedly such a bad reputation for this kind of thing in the past, a complete myth as far as I'm concerned. Glad to see you are enjoying the new scope.
