Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

DTG = Dublin Telescope Group, out of action a few years now (sine 2007 I think). Made boxy but easy to use Dobsonians. €200 is not bad, but if the mirror needs re-silvering, it could cost you c. €140 to €180 to get the job done, or buy a new mirror for around the same price. The balance issue might be easily fixed, DIY-style. Is it coming with eyepieces?

I would not be entirely convinced - if handing over 200 Euro! If the primary mirror needs recoating, then the secondary probably needs recoating. If it has a balance problem as well!!!!
has it been well looked after and or stored?
I know I'm being negative but unless I could see the scope face to face ????? on the positives
It could be a really good restoration project

Wasn't DTG what Astronomy Ireland used to sell many years back?
From what I remember about these they were a DIY type dobsonian & the primary boasted 1/4 wave optics. The couple of people I know who had them were happy with them.
Whether it's still good value comes down to how well it's been looked after. Has it been stored well, has someone tried to clean it, did they know what they were doing etc.?
A new 8" dob would cost around €400 btw.
