Hi all!

Looking for a bit of info regarding Meteor Scatter....

Trying to get something like This

Is there an 'ideal' FM frequency that I could leave a radio recording on that might bounce some signals?

or even an ideal frequency that would just 'ping'!! I have a handheld FM/VHF/UHF radio with a 400mm antenna, would I even have a hope of picking something up from 'built up Bray'? I dont want to leave on Radio Siberia when I barely have a chance to pick up Isle of Man FM! :)

Hi Graham,

Have a read through www.tvcomm.co.uk/radio/ - you should find a usable frequency here. Andy Smyth (who runs the site) also issues high meteor-count alerts (see below.)

All the best,

Phil.
(also in Bray!)

Subject: Alert: Perseids meteor shower peaks tonight!
Activity has been increasing rapidly over the past 48 hours towards the peak tonight. Technically, the peak time as the earth crosses the stream’s path will be between 18h15m and 20h45m UT, although activity should continue to be high especially after local midnight as the radiant rises higher in the north-east.
