A Kickstarter project has been created by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (Washington D.C.) to raise money to help preserve Neil Armstrong's suit that he famously wore (on this day 46 years ago) on that historic jaunt on the Moon.
Things that need attention include the patch of the US flag on the left shoulder, which has faded greatly. It will be preserved to limit fading from now on. Lots of other bits too:
