NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope is using its infrared eyes to turn the dark and dusty cosmos into a beautiful garden of colorful objects. Since its launch in August 2003, Spitzer has produced dozens of spectacular images.

Fantastic stuff from Spitzer - makes me glad I work on data from it ;)

Check out the Spitzer survey of the LMC, SAGE - some utterly fantastic mosaics:

Spitzer amazes me. This shot of about a third of the Large Magelanic Cloud took 300,000 individual pictures stitched together to make one monster 13,250 pixel wide titanic 59 megafright image. I snatched it, but it's so huge that it's easier to work with the smaller 2,400 x 3,000 pixel version. It's also only a ten meg download.

By the way, the pixel ratio is an alert. If it's square, you're just getting the image. If the ratio is 1.25 to 1, then you're getting a black border and text.
