India has successfully tested a Space Capsule Recovery Experiment it was launched at 03:53 GMT on January 10, 2007 from Sriharikota by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The launch was conducted using the PSLV C7 rocket, along with three other satellites. It remained in orbit for 12 days before re-entering the Earth's atmosphere and splashing down into the Bay of Bengal at 04:16 GMT on January 22.

It's about time that one of the big Non-Aligned States got into the act to balance things out geopolitically. It's equally unfortunate though that they chose to spend money on this before solving their poorer regions' economic problems. The aerospace industry will only enrich a select few.
