Is that bright patch in the south-east a sprawling metropolis of Titanians, living their busy lives, drinking beer, and whatever Titanians do to have fun???

Wow! That is an interesting, and amazing, picture!

Normally hidden by a thick, hazy atmosphere, tantalizing features on Titan's surface appear in this false-color view. The image was recorded as the Cassini spacecraft approached its first close flyby of Saturn's smog-shrouded moon on October 26. Here, red and green colors represent specific infrared wavelengths absorbed by Titan's atmospheric methane while bright and dark surface areas are revealed in a more penetrating infrared band. Ultraviolet data showing the extensive upper atmosphere and haze layers is seen as blue.

There is almost a 3D effect to the picture, with the UV showing the raised effect of the atmosphere. I can't wait to see what Huygens will discover in January.

Does anyone remember 2010: Odyssey Two? Maybe Titan would be a more applicable place to look for life, and perhaps even not 'litter' after Huygens is finished? Thats a debate for another day, and thread!
