Gogarty Scholarship for Space Studies was created by DeirdreKelleghan
The Gogarty Scholarship was formally launched last night in “The Oliver St John Gogarty†pub, Temple Bar, Dublin. The evening was hosted very energetically by local space journalist and broadcaster, Mr. Leo Enright.
Joycean scholar, Senator David Norris, gave an exuberant speech of enthusiastic welcome to this innovative scholarship backed by Dublin business man Martin Keane.
Associate Professor of Space Science Dr Hugh Hill from the International Space University also spoke warmly about this educational opportunity.
So here is the link to the details, the application form is a link in the page below and here are the deadlines, best of luck.
• Space Studies Program (SSP): April 30, 2008
• M.Sc. in Space Studies (MSS) and M.Sc. in Space Management (MSM): June 30, 2008

Thanks Deirdre.
If anybody wishes to learn more about Oliver St. John Gogarty (and experience the darkest and least light polluted night skies in Ireland) take break at his former home in Connemara, Renvyle House Hotel.
(He is buried in nearby Ballinakill Cemetery.)

I was there last weekend and watched the Milky Way setting on the Atlantic.
Such pristine dark starry skies are unknown east of the Shannon.
(Plus: The daytime scenery is unmatched anywhere in the solar system.)
