Well actually NASA/ESA Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) AKA "Curiosity". Not clear about launch dates etc but I think slated for launch 2011 for deployment in 2012/13.
As I was watching this excellent animation two thoughts struck me
1) Thunderbirds!
2) It will be a feat if it works
MSL even has a powerful laser to target rocks and analyse the resulting reflected spectrum (I seem to recall that Arthur C Clarke embedded that idea in one of his books).
