Biggest ever cosmos simulation was created by dpower
Certainly one of the most fascinating articles I have read in quite some time. There's a link to some video and the Nature site too. I suppose it's a nice follow up to the Cosmos lecture about the building blocks of the Solar system (take a bow Tullamore)
I just like the fact that they can stick all of our knowledge together in one place and see how close we are to understanding the universe!

I was about to post saying that I wish that I'd seen it, but then i found it and watched it on the BBC website:D
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/default.stm just click on the Latest Show video button.
time reference 31m30s
Fascinating stuff! Maybe someday they'll build a simulation complex enough to include the building blocks of life.
Somebody should make a film about that.... they could call it "The Matrix" or something...

Just watched it now, it is an amazing piece of Computer Science and an amazing piece of Cosmology!
BTW, the bit on the Millenium simulation starts about 29 minutes in.
