Update...
I asked the MAxim board and even though Maxim was giving me a solution, it wasn't a good one... Hence PoleAlignMax was always doomed to failure.
I started using T-Point and after generating about 6 terms, the mount started making unsuspected movements (not large) - presumably because T-Point (via TheSky) was trying to correct the mount alignment and positioning. Anyow, it was a real pain and I achieved nothing.
I ran another Pinpoint solution at about 1am and then I woke up, in the PC chair, at about 2.30 am. Solutionless but still with my hair
Cheers

Try
'Dave McDonald says everyone in Ireland loves International Soccer and we'll all be going to Croke park to watch it'
Hmm, perhaps a little too contentious....

No - not really sure at the moment. The images were showing the main sync'd star bang in the center. But PoleAlignMax couldn't solve it...
One suggestion was that I need to go deeper and get an image with lots more stars on it (maybe M13  )
If weather permits tonight, I'll give it another bash.
T-Point might be the way to do it if PoleAlignMax fails...
