OK, just wondering just how much of a part the web plays in the activities of the average Irish Amateur Astronomer.
What web based resources would you use reguarly (at least once evrey few weeks)?
I for one use relatively few, Just Heavens Above ( www.heavens-above.com ) regualry and occasionally when I need an image of somthing for some reason I use Sky View ( skyview.gsfc.nasa.gov/ ).
So what am I missing out on?

One website that I think is very good is:
www.calsky.com
Now, when you go to the site, it's in German!
But, before you hit the "Back" button and curse at me a few times:)
you can click "Ireland" near the globe in the top right-hand corner of the page. This allows you to enter your location name or co-ordionates, and, thankfully, change the language settings to English.
One thing I like about this website is that it can predict transits of the Sun
and the Moon by the ISS! For this you need to have very accurate
co-ords i.e. accurate 100-200metres preferably. If you have a GPS unit or own a copy of Autoroute, for example, you can enter in accurate co-ords. But the website also offers a LOAD of other stuff as well.
BTW, make sure to change the level setting from "Hobby" to "Astronomer"
Check out the website and you'll see what I mean.

Try out
www.astronomydaily.com
I find it good and anyway any site that lists Philip Harrington as a contributer can't be too bad.
