Wake on Lan for Observatory PC was created by michaeloconnell
I have an old Dell PC in my observatory.
I'm trying to get the Wake on Lan (WOL) working on it.
I changed the network card to one which is specifically for WOL.
It comes with a little cable which is supposed to plug into the motherboard.
However, there is no place in the motherboard to plug it in to.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Michael.

Michael,
How old is the PC? that may be the problem.
Both the NIC and the motherboard must be WOL compliant.
Have a look at the following link, it may help you track down what is going on.

Hi Michael,
I have an Abit AB-BX6 motherboard (with original manual) with Wake on Lan going abegging if you want it. What processor are you using - I also have a 500MHz P2 or 3 if that's any use. Come to think of it... I have a number of PC cases and other gubbins I'd love to get rid of!
Phil.
