Hi Guys,
Well it’s that time of year again; the dark skies are back. All the equipment is dusted off and I’m as eager as ever to get out under the stars.
At the moment the observatory is kitted out for deep sky imaging as you can see in the below photo. You can also tell in the photo I’m not the neatest at cable tidying.
My plan is to post all my work here on this page from here on in. How many images will that be, well that’s up to the weather and full Moon gods. Really I hope to get one or two images finished before the planets reappear again.
The very best of luck to everyone be safe and don’t electrocute yourself when it comes time to plugging in your telescopes.
Clear Skies,
Carl.

Hi Guys,
Here is a project I’m working on at the moment witch is NGC 281 the Pacman Nebula, in the constellation of Cassiopeia. There are a total of 68 x 5 min witch is just under six hours exposure time.
I used ACP Observatory Control Software for this project and what a joy it is to use. It sequences the observations and controls the telescope, CCD imager, filter wheel, auto-guider, focuser, and dome. Every Image cantered automatically even the meridian flip is no longer an issue.
The image was captured using a Williams’s optics 110mm refractors, 6nm H-Alpha filter, on a AP1200 mount; guiding was done using an Orion Star Shoot AutoGuider.
The Image was processed in Images Plus and Photoshop.
Hope you like the results so far.

Hi Paddy man,
I find ACP worth every penny for me personally. What ACP does for me is it frees me up to spend more time with my family after work. Is ACP worth it if you have to go out every night and set gear up NO; it defeats the purpose of ACP altogether.
Here are some links on how it all works acp.dc3.com/howworks.html
