With my new supercomputer I can finally get Photoshop CC to do the minor edits to my old images to make them "pop" a bit without the program crashing due to insufficient ram. I have improved the dark lane contrast and brightened the nebulae in the galactic centre. Considering this image (which is a stack) was taken in a semi-dark site under very hazy conditions, it has turned out one to be of my favourites.

I will be presenting a talk tonight at the Shannonside AC monthly meeting in Mary Immaculate College and demonstrating the equipment used to take these shots. I will also be covering the club scene, Starparty and dark sky observing sites one can visit if you are ever planning a trip down under.

That's a fantastic pic John! Looking forward to seeing some more of what your new computer can help you with.

Thanks!
"Upside down"? Well that depends on your perspective ;-)

Hi John.......I was just having a go (in fun) because the shot was taken in Australia.......(though I am well aware that the Milky way is not East/West ....so this should not make any real difference).

Hope my comment makes more people have a look and give credit where credit is due. I too am looking forward to seeing more images processed with the new computer
..................... and in fact I wish that more people would take the plunge and put their shots up on this site.

Very best.....Kinch.
