This is a top class demo and excellent presentation of the combined use of Lightroom and Photoshop. well worth watching.

Thanks for the link John. Very interesting.
I just attempted this using Photoshop to stack my images (instead of Deep Sky Stacker). It seems to work very well and only took a few seconds to stack and align 14 frames.
I imported the frames after adjusting in Camera Raw, synchronised all the frames in Camera raw and imported them into PS as a smart object (shift click open images- I did not use Lightroom). I stacked using Layer-Smart object-Stacking mode-Median.
Sorry to flog this old photo to death but here is the result.

That's beautiful John. One of the best I've seen. An definite improvement on the previous one on your Flickr page. How long was each exposure? I am just starting wide field and am going to get Lightroom to use this method.

I've used deconvolution to improve the signal to noise ratio. I found it brings out more stars that may not be seen first time. It improves the resolution in image.
