Feel the Love !

Hi all, Just before the snow closed in, I managed to have a look at Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2 at 8 o'clock this evening both as an easy naked eye object and using my simple 15x70mm binoculars. The coma was about the size of a full moon! with a slightly discernable 4 degree long tail pointing east.

This is a quick 3 x 2 minutes stacked shot of Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2 and it's brief encounter with the Pleiades Star Cluster on the night of January 16th 2015.

Reports also that Comet Finlay has had another outburst, up to mag 7 possibly! 10° NE of Mars at the moment.
