Horsehead nebula in H-alpha was created by Tony
First test using new Atik 460ex CCD camera. Taken from backgarden in heavy light pollution (Dublin!) with an almost full moon. This has caused some strong gradients which I haven't really tried to remove, this is just a quick process. Image is 12 600sec exposures with flats, no darks taken.

Considering the conditions, that's a cracking image, well done

Hi Simon, I used a Baader 7nm Ha filter, which appears to be not immune to moonlight. A 3nm filter might be more suitable for the bad conditions I was imaging in.

Hi Tony

I have the same experience as you with the 7nm filters, moonlight is not completely eliminated, however I cannot seem to find ANY 3nm 36mm filters :(
