Venus and Jupiter was created by dave_lillis
Hi all,
I was out observing Venus tonight and dusted off the camera and got a shot of it using the 12" Meade.
this is 2 thousand frames stacked

later on the seeing deteriorated and the clouds came in while trying to image Jupiter, I recorded about 8 videos of the planet but was thwarted by passing clouds, this video was the only one that wasn't interrupted, the shadow is of Callisto, and the GRS was only just coming into view, hopefully next time the seeing will be better..
I might give another go at reprocessing it if I get the time.
400 frames stacked.

Nice shots Dave, hopefully the seeing will get better for Jupiter again. Venus looks cool, it's amazing at how bright it is considering it's phase.

Thanks for the kind words guys,
Venus is going to get alot bigger in size but smaller in phase over the coming months, so it would be nice to image it more.
Imagine if Venus wasn't covered in cloud, there would definitely be some interesting features to see.
as for Jupiter I have a plan in mind to try and get a better view of it, time will tell if it works out.
@Keith, sorry I'm going to miss your talk at cosmos today, I couldn't hang around for today.
