There used to be a Balbriggan club. They still have a facebook page.
Meath astronomy club meet in Rathbeggan lakes and the Irish Astronomical Society meet in Clontarf once a month not exactly local but nearby.

Hi Gerry.

We will be having a fair few Astrophotography nights out at Rathbeggan lakes with Meath Astronomy group. It may seem far but its actually only about 35 min from you as its motorway almost all the way there. At least one of the nights will be doing a 'bring what imaging equipment you have and we will see what we can get working for you' with a view to identify possible next steps for progression. I also sometime Google hangout or Teamviewer to help people with some of the basics/intermediate planetary imaging remotely via laptop.

Thanks, sounds like a plan. How will I know when? Will they be advertised here?

Do you have Facebook? if so most events are posted on Meath Astronomy Club. There is one tonight but there will be a talk only due to weather.
