Quick Question Regarding..Canon EF 85mm f1.8 Lens was created by Keith g
Hello All, Could I ask a quick question regarding this lens:
www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/det.../002-4791113-5260808
I'm thinking of purchasing this for 'close-in' astrophotography, it's f1.8, and i've read a couple of reviews stating it's a damn good lens for it's price. This would work out as a 135mm lens on my 300D.
Have any of you used it?
Keith..

Keith,
I have read nothing but good things about this lens! I would not hesitate in picking one up.
Anthony.
PS. I recall seeing one just the other day on Astromart for less than $300.

This is a great lens, Keith. I don't have it but it is well know as a top quality prime. Psssst get the 70-200 - yeah yeah I know I keep pushing this lens but it is the best quality zoom bar none, it is as good or better then a prime fixed focal lens - tests by labs have shown this. If you do want the 85mm, and at F1.8 it's very enticing for sure, go for it you can't go wrong. If your looking to get it from the USA there are cheaper options - try B+H Photo here:

Anthony & John, Thanks very much for your opinion I'd be a bit lost without your advice, I've heard that the 85mm is very good, thanks for the link john, i'll go for that - and I will save up for that 70-200 f4 Lens
Thanks Again!
