Nice shots there Keith. Did you process them in Photoshop/other?
Mind me asking what mount you used. Tracking was obviously pretty good.

Keith,
Have you tried removing the skyglow form the first image?

Keith,
well done! There is a tinyhint of trailing in the Scorpius image, and it looks more pre-dawn than light-polluted in my opinion, which is a nice effect!

Michael, I processed these shots in photoshop alright, but to answer Dave's question - I've tried learning about how to remove 'gradients' i.e. skyglow in the images, but i'm still working on that, Any Tips?
The mount I used was simple, it's the alt/az mount that comes with the C8 SCT, no equatorial here! I made sure my polar alignment was bang-on  So i'm happy with that, it just takes a bit of time.
Seanie, yeah, I suppose it looks a bit like the approaching Dawn, maybe light pollution to an extent is not so bad after all dare I say!
I'll work on that skyglow,
Keith..

Keith,
I tried adjusting the levels a bit in those images just out of curiosity. Are they any better?
Basically, I opened the levels option and pulled the two sliders at each end so as to tighten up the histogram a bit. Then I adjusted the middle slider a bit to improve the contrast a fraction. For the Scutum one, I found it easier to process it in B/W.
I'd be interested to see what the real Photoshop pros here are able to do with the images.

Michael, Thanks for having a go!, I think the b&w image is nice, reminds me of images taken with the old techpan 2415 film, at least it takes away the skyglow, I guess it's up to individual taste, I'd love to get that deep blue colour tint on it, but I think it's too artificial looking
I think the scorpius image is even sharper at the top, so...calling all the photoshop pro's - Anybody out there?
Keith..
