Anybody know how to...? was created by Keith g
Hi All, Just a quick question to rattle your brains I'm going on a week's holidays to Portugal (lucky me ) on the first week of June, and I am thinking of doing piggyback shots with my 300D on the Meade ETX 70, problem is I have no way of securing the camera on top of this, I have a set of rings for a celestron C102HD 4 inch refractor, but they are too big, are there any 'rings' that can wrap around the tube assembly and can house a screw thread to put the camera on? :
Thanks,
Keith..
Thanks,

Keith - have a look at the bottom of this page for tjhe ETX 70 piggy back mount by Scopetronix. $43 plus shipping isn't bad. It'll fit 35mm cameras.

It's not pretty but if your in a jam a roll duct/gaffer/insulation tape will do the trick. Just criss-cross it a few times around the camera to the scope and it should hold for a nights shooting.
Enjoy your trip.

I got rings for my 4" Mak from Greenwitch that had a tripod screw on top. You could drop them a mail and see if they have something that would suit.
