Actually Dave, I was fooling about last night and took a 10 minute unguided exposure - below.
The trails are caused by innaccurate polar alignment and the wiggles by PE. Interestingly, 10 mins represents about 1.5 gear revolutions - so the PE aint too bad. And bear in mind this image is about 10 x 10 arcmins!
With calibration, I've seen long exposures from AP mounts that show virtually no PE.

Dave, Uranus looks 3D to me, and as for Pluto, That's a great idea if you could image it over the course of the next couple of months!

Was the picture of Uranus taken sometime in the early morning of 11th July UT? I think I might be able to identify the moons.

Hi Conor, the image was a composite of 93 images taken on 12/07. The first one was taken at 00:51 UT, the last one at 01:11 UT.
I checked Starry Night Pro but was unable to match the moons up.
I'd appreciate if you can give it a go! If you need any more images, let me know.
Cheers

It's Chris.Hi Conor
Are you sure it wasn't 11/07 at about 01:00 UT (2am)? Because xephem and celestia are both able to make sense of your picture for that date and time.the image was a composite of 93 images taken on 12/07. The first one was taken at 00:51 UT, the last one at 01:11 UT.
