Or maybe for deep sky work it requires the filter being put back in
Maybe the DSI needs more exposure time for colour?

Heres the image from last year, I'm hoping to give it a go again some time over the next few weeks once I'm setup with the observatory.

I see what you mean Dave. great shot, nice and sharp.
I've had a look around the web for pictures of the Ring and most seem to show a reddish ring with a yellow ring inside that and a green ring inside the yellow. Perhaps that where the yellowish colour comes from in mine?
I was hoping to get another crack at it tonight, but the clouds are moving in again already
