Make it a euro lotto, I live about 3 miles away from the 115,600,000.00E
give or take a few hundred grand  3 miles too far away unfortunately.

imagine the scope you could get with that

Imagine what it would be like to have more euros in ther bank then there are sand grains on an average beech :P

Scope? Surely you mean 'scopes'...

Imagine the amateurs you could buy to run your shiny new scopes on La Palma... :D

But the crucial question is, would you be happy?

Bloody right...!

Dave G - do you have co-ordinates for UB313? Seem Starry Night Pro has the object in its asteroid list but it doesn't seem to match with another ephemeris I've seen...

Cheers

Dave,
Heres a 100 day ephemeris for 2003 UB313 Epoch J2000 based on the following orbital elements

T: 2005 08 18.0
M: 197.538
a: 67.7091
e: 0.441613
w: 151.312
Omega: 35.875
i: 44.177

Cheers Dave.

SNP seems to have it 5 degrees West from the current ephemeris... But then I always though SNP was a bit dodgy on co-ordinates. I'll try and thro the data into TheSky and see what happens.

Thanks again for the data and the link.

Cheers

I think I'd spend about ten million on a nice scope, a hundred million on this , and still have a fair amount left over :)

Dave, I use MICA for most ephemeris type calculations. The new version is just out and its well worth the 29.95 USD it costs. Also skymap pro does ephemeris calcs very well. Although as a bit of a student of celestial mechanics I have found slight variations between the two. I've written some software which uses the highest precision possible to do such calculations and I've found that MICA is the most accurate with SMP coming in a close second.

Speaking of Starry Night, I've just finished writing a review of all of the new starry night range (v5) for A&S, have you seen SN Pro Plus yet? Stunning doesnt begin to describe it. Instead of using computer generated star charts it actually uses an all sky CCD image!!! As you might expect its a bit hard on my two year old graphics card tho!
