M27 Revisited. was created by DaveGrennan
3 x 4 minute manually guided images.
Aligned and stacked in registax
Processed in Paint Shop Pro.
Probably a little heavy handed with the processing, but I like it!

However you really need to see this in full res TIF (3.8MB) . The jpg compression doesn't do it any favours.
(best right click on link and click 'save target as')
I'm pleased with this one!

I give up. Superb.

The red comes out really well, too well I thought until I checkd the red stars to the lower right of the nebula, they all have a B-R of 3 to 3.3 which looks about right. You have stars down to 15th magnitude in the red.

Well done Dave!

By the way, an amateur may have discovered what appears to be a nova in M27 in the last week or so.

Taichi-san gave the tentative name OT_J195951.3+224232 to the new object.

Can you spot this object in your image?

Cheers

Dave,
respectfully, I have slightly defaced your image to show where I think the nova could be in your image:

Nice shot (the original) by the way!
