Autoguiding- what do you use? was created by Jed Glover
Hi all,
Dave Grennan and I have been discussing the various merits of the differing autoguiders available today.
I have a SBIG ST-4 and have found it to be reliable and easy to use. The fist time you use it on a particular mount usually takes a while (an hour or so) to find he settings that work with it but once identified you can use the same settings every time without issue.
The settings that do have to be changed every time are Exposure settings, scintillation adjustment and average adjust based on conditions.
So what do you use and what experience have you had with other autoguiders?
Later,
Jed.

Up to now, I haven't done any guiding. Observatory is nearly complete and wedge has just arrived. However, I do hope to start autoguiding shortly with my LPI. Haven't tried it yet though. Would be interested to hear of various people's expereinces though and software tips.
Clear skies,
