Winter's Orion Rising was created by Keith g
Hi again, along with the moon-mercury conjunction, I also had a chance to capture a shot of Orion rising over the fog covered lake that I drove to to get this widefield shot. It was a stunning sight, so clear, crisp, and those winter stars are so much brighter Twighlight was underway, I actually think it was a more pleasant sight than in winter itself. Beautiful........

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Yep - it was cold too, it won't be long until we've got many hours of darkness to play around with. If you look at the bottom of the shot, you can see the fog over the lake, gives that 'cold' feeling about it
Clear Skies,
Keith

Nice shot keith
I was tempted to take one myself this morning but alas got clouded out before it had risen enough.
Later,
Jed.
