How does this image compare to the one straight out of the DSI/Meade stacking software - what I mean is, how much post-DSI processing did you do on the image in Photoshop?

Hi Michael - I don't use the Meade post-processing software. Its pretty rubbish to put it bluntly.
I use Photoshop to open the FITS file. This activates the FITS plugin which allows you to stretch the black & white levels. When done, the file opens. All I do then it crop the image and fine tune the levels. That's it. I've never been one to really squeeze the best out of an image via post processing. I'd rather spend the time on taking a good image to begin with - and the DSI is well capable of that
The image below was processed in less than 5 minutes
The new DSI software though has been improved to allow restacking of images post imaging. eg - if you take 20 images and find that 4 of them are no good, you can use the camera software to restack the 16 good ones. Then you can do other post-processing...
