M42 - 1st attempt was created by DaveGrennan
Managed to get a few shots of M42 last night.

Results here;

(While your there check out my new website www.webtreatz.com )

The night was very windy hence the slight double star images. I used a single 7.5 minute shot with a 1 min exposure for the core detail. Overall I'm quite pleased, cant wait to get a whole pile of images on a not so windy night!!

Stunning Dave!

Martin Mc Kenna

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Very interesting to see the difference that DSLR gives compared to film.

Great shot Dave, cannot wait to see more data on this one ;)

Later,

Jed.

Dave - that's a really good image. Bummer about the wind but I'd say on a clear frosty night you'll get a peach of an image - especially as Orion keeps on rising earlier.

I'd love to see you get this one again.

Any chance you could post the image details?

Cheers and well done

In all fairness, it was light grey on a white background...

Cheers for that. I can definately see you raising the bar this winter with that setup Dave. And dare I say an image or two in the mags?

Anthony - watch yer back...

Cheers

Dave
