Some advice - buying a lens

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying this lens on amazon.co.uk tomorrow, but it has a 'soft focus' feature, this is what I have a questionmark over

It's a canon ef 135mm f2.8 lens, I think the 'softfocus' can be turned off, or you can have a choice of 2 softfocus features, none of which I understand. It is claimed that you can still get 'razor sharp' images, but the softfocus bugs me...

Afterall, it is E500 brand new.....
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Michael, I've just posted this on the digital_astro forum also, and have had 2 responses, both of which say it's not great for astro work, so I'm going to consider the Canon ef 70-200mm f4 L lens

Worth the bucks methinks!

YES YES YES, get the 70-200 F4 L - it is one fantastic lens and worth the cash.

I got mine at 7dayshop but as you know they can't sell Canon gear anymore which is such a pity. I got mine for around £430 which was a great price, expect to pay at least £100 more.
