First effort! was created by LUNAtic
All the recent wide-field astro shots posted here inspired me to have a go myself. So I took out my Fuji digital camera, tripod mounted it, set it to maximum exposure compensation (no shutter settings available) and targetted the beautiful cresent moon and Venus in the evening sky. I hope you like my simple effort:

Seanie is going blind in his old age. I see it just fine.
I have tried alot of images with my Fuji Finepix and if you limit yourself to dusk or have something in the distant foreground then the camera will have some thing to focus on. My Fuji used to default to focusing at about 20 feet when it could not find something in the distance.
Nice first image though.

thats a good start,
the focus is a small bit out, you'll find that this is the hardest part of astrophotography !
