Andromeda Galxy - M31 was created by Keith g
Hello all, I hope you can show me how to improve on this shot, it's the Andromeda Galaxy - M31 which I shot this evening with the Canon 300D, piggybacked on a C8 using a Canon ef 85mm lens at f3.5. This is a multiple stack of 8 shots, all stacked and aligned in registax 3.

My conditions were pretty poor from my backgarden, with a lot of frost & fog. I hope this can account for the relatively poor quality, the light pollution just got worse and worse over a period of about half an hour or so, with dew finally forming in the lens, afterall, the lens was pointed straight up!

So how can I improve? I tried many shots at differnt exposures and ISO settings, details are below. Can this be processed any better?
This is a slight crop of the original stack, processed in ps7 with gradient exterminator. Some detail in the dust lanes is visible.

Anyways, hope you like it, I'll definitely get a better shot next time the moon is out of the way from a dark site, and not in my backgarden!!
Keith.

Keith i think its great that you managed to pull that image out of the misty/foggy moon lit sky tonight. Full credit to you!

Excellent as always

Keith,
Are you joking about a better image? Your shot is superb, an item 3.5 million light years away and you make it look like the moon. Well done and keep up the good work :D

Keith thats a great image, the only way you could improve on that is get more dust detail in the spiral arms. :)
