Constellation Auriga was created by Keith g
I was just looking at Auriga last night with the near full moon beside it when I decided to have a look through my files to see if i had a shot of it taken from my old film days, this is it - I took this over 2 years ago, and it reminds me of those clear winter nights when this should be one area of the sky worth looking at
Auriga has plenty to offer - Messier open clusters M36,37 & 38, are a great sight through any scope, Nebulous regions IC405 and IC410 may be seen with dark skies, along with the california nebula here seen at right. Capella, Auriga's brightest star is at top. There are many other star clusters in this field of view, a few too many to mention here, a good sky atlas will show up a lot.
Next clear night i'll pencil this one in..It's a nice area with plenty of bright stars....
Details: 15minute exposure, 50mm lens at f3.5, Fuji Provia 400F film

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680
