a camera to compete with sbig st7? was created by stepryan
ladies and gents,
discovered this on another site, some of you might be interested in. a camera made in europe which has a similar spec to a sbig st7 but a bit cheaper. never heard of the company though.

Stephen,
I checked up the camera at Moravian Instruments and it is using the Kodak 0402ME sensor. The price is €1,720 ($2,050)
I also checked SBIG, they have the same sensor in camera for $1,295.
I can't understand how the price at Moravian is so high, its nearly double.

I have to agree with Eamonn. 768 (H) × 512 (V) pixels!! for €1.7K!!
Thats no bigger than the meade dsi or the orion starshoot which cost a fraction of that. Granted the specs look very nice on the morovian camera but there is no way i'd pay that kind of money for it.
I'll be sticking with my sub €1000 3072x2048 canon DSLR for quite a while methinks. On a pure value for money scale, I still cant fint anything to beat it (the orion starshoot does come close though IMO).
