Moon & Mars shot 8th January was created by Keith g
Folks, here is another shot I got last night of the moon and mars together. I even got to see Mars in broad daylight with the moon pointing the way!
This is a stackof 2 shots, One bright one to show up Mars, the other one to show detail on the moon to reflect the naked eye view.
Both done in registax 3. It was a cool sight!

That's a nice image. Unusual effect on the Moon, but I like it. Was that intentional?

like the "cross-hairs" effect Keith, unusual.

Was that taken with a scope Keith? Its quite a large FOV considering its the Moon...

Yep, It was intentional, I set up the camera on the scope (polar aligned and the motor running) and shot off two exposures in quick sucession so I could easily stack the shots
No Seanie, I just used my 85mm lens and cropped the shot a bit to zoom in
Glad you like it, and p.s. - I do love those strings
