Well done Dave. Beautiful images. Not the first time I mentioned that these are only 10 second images and only 5 of them in that M57 shot, amazing!!


Heres a question for you. Do you have much of a problem with light pollution when you take these shots? I mean do you see the skyglow on the raw frames and if so is that something the autostar software deals with?

Thanks Dave L. Seanie - glad you spotted the galaxy!

Dave G - at that FOV seems light poluution has never been a major issue. I don't get gradients (or they're not obvious) though I did see them on the smaller aperture scopes (wider FOV)...

I'm not sure exactly the process you'd follow to get rid of it - eg flats wouldn't help nor would darks. There are some software utilities out there though - gradient xterminator is one that springs to mind...

Autostar itself doesn;t have the ability to do it but MaximDL has a utility or you can use photoshop...
